The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), Daily Trust has been informed.
It was gathered that DSS operatives arrived the EFCC headquarters in Wuse, Abuja on Monday afternoon and whisked him away.
DailyTrust reports that Mr Magu is now being questioned by the secret police.
A source at the EFCC said that DSS had failed in an attempt to arrest Mr Magu at the commissionās head office two weeks ago.
Mr Maguās arrest comes a few days after the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, accused the anti-graft boss of gross infractions.
The AGF had asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Mr. Magu over some allegations, including the diversion of recovered loot.
Both EFCC boss and the organisationās spokesperson have not commented on the arrest.
However, Mr Magu had previously denied any wrong doing and described all allegations against him as āpolitically motivatedā.
