The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), has unveiled a new set of Ambassadors that will help to drive the message of POCACOV to all the nooks and crannies of the country.

This is part of efforts and strategies put in place to towards ensuring effective sustenance of the campaign.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at IGP M.A Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre, Enugu. Those that were decorated as new Ambassadors of POCACOV includes; Jude Thomas Dawan (A.K.A ALHAJI TANKO) from Plateau state, a reputable artiste, notable comedian and also, programme manager of Enugu Dream 92.5fm, Ifeanyi Igbokwe alias MC Igbokwe a reputable Artiste, actor and Comedian from Abia state and Moemeka Onyeka alias Lyrics from Delta state and also reputable artiste, actor and comedian.

CSP Ebere Amaraiz, the National Coordinator of POCACOV thanked the newly unveiled Ambassadors for making themselves available for the Campaign Against Cultism, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Substance Abuse, Thuggery/Violence and other Vices in the Country.

He also reminded them of their mandate as Ambassadors which includes; seeking to reduce incidence of Cultism and other Vices in Nigeria through sensitization, awareness creation, advocacy, mentoring and re orientation.

Amaraizu also stated that POCACOV is bringing broad spectrum of celebrities under the umbrella of ‘POCACOV AMBASSADORS’ drawn from all parts of the country as a Platform for effective Sustenance of the Campaign. “They will systematically join in spreading this message in communities using various means of communication to discourage and save Nigerian Children and Youths from the claws of cultism and other vices and making our country safe and secured.

The new Ambassadors thanked the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu for POCACOV which they described as a programme of the children/youths and for the children and Youths. They also promised to work with different stakeholders to help deepen the message of POCACOV in the communities as reputable actors, comedians and artiste.

It could be recalled that the Inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu had during the National Flag off of Police Campaign Against Cultism and other vices in Enugu on August 29th, 2019, inaugurated the first sets of POCACOV AMBASSADORS led by a veteran Actor and Comedian Nkem Owoh also known as Osuofia.

The newly unveiled POCACOV Ambassadors will join the likes of Nkem Owoh, Actress Patience Ozokwor (MAMA G), Mutiu (headmaster) Adepoju, Actor Damola Olatunji, Former Super Falcons player and assistant coach Maureen Madu amongst others.
