…Our Stand as Nkanu Youths

Our attention has been drawn to a recent fallacious media publication of falsification of signature against Enugu State Commissioner for Lands Hon Surv Victor Nnam by some group of individuals in the State, and in reaction to this, we the Executive body of the Leadership of the Youths of Enugu East Senatorial Zone otherwise known as NKANU YOUTH COUNCIL worldwide on behalf of the Youths of Nkanu land have vehemently condemned this defamatory publication, describing it as an orchestrated defamatory article aimed at not only to tarnish the good image of an outstanding Governor’s appointee but also,to indirectly attack the remarkable administration of His Excellency,Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

We are aware of some people who are envious of the unprecedented achievements of Governor Ugwuanyi and as a result of that, want to use a Cold War Mechanism as propaganda to fight His Excellency by using the Media and purported Court summons devoid of locus standi to fight the Governor’s Commissioner so as to get at His Excellency the most peaceful and humble Governor in Nigeria.

The sponsor of this defamatory article should be aware of the fact that the General public are not ignorant of the Law, otherwise, how can you wake up and announce that the Chief Justice and Attorney General of the Federation sued a Commissioner of a certain State over a State land that is not domiciled in the Federal Capital Territory, without the prior notice of that State’s Chief Justice and Attorney General? Even when the Nigerian Judiciary is on vacation.

For records straight,
We have objectively made series of investigations about this particular Land issue at Obeagu with our truthful findings and we discovered that the blackmail on the Media is purely politically motivated, deliberately calculated to tarnish the image of an illustrious son of Nkanu land with enviable professional records in the person of Hon Surv Victor Nnam and indirectly discredit the unprecedented achievements of this present administration under Governor Ugwuanyi.

The cold war that resulted to this heinous allegation and character defamation of the person of Hon Victor Nnam is uncalled for.
How can the village heads who personally brought their Land Survey Affidavits to the Commissioner for Lands to help them certify and authenticate their Land before sales went back and accuse him of certificate forgery?
In the light of this ,we wish to let the general public know that this land issue is beyond mere propaganda and the urgent need to tell the truth.

Our findings:

..the land in question is a communal land between Obeagu and Amaechi communities.

…the village heads who are the rightful ancestral owners brought their affidavits to the Commissioner for Lands to help them certify the Land Use Act of their Land before sales

….that the Hon Commissioner for Lands never at any point forged anyone’s signature to acquire any land.

….that the certificate of Occupancy of the land was revoked in 2019 on the ground that:
The development partnership between Private Estate Estate International West Africa Ltd and Enugu State Government was neither presented not approved by the State Executive Council, consequently, lacking the issuance of Yellow Paper under the seal of Government of Enugu State to sanction such magnitude project.
The survey plan attached to the building Certificate of Occupancy bears private survey plan number which is not attributable to Enugu State Survey delineation numbers.

…that His Excellency Sen Dr Jim Nwobodo has waded into the matter and advised the two villages to adopt a peaceful resolution for the betterment of Obeagu and Amaechi Communities.

…that His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has initiated a peace process between the parties and stakeholders of the land for a lasting peace and harmony on the land .

Our Resolution:

1
We Advise the owner of Private Estate International West Africa Ltd, Mr Kingsley Eze to toe the path of peace by respecting the Peace Treaty already initiated by the Governor of Enugu State for a peaceful resolution

2
That the management of the above company should desist forthwith the defamatory publication against our illustrious son Hon Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam(Hon Commissioner for Lands Enugu State)

…That the Enugu State Government should ignore any form of unwarranted distractions and proceed on the Peace Treaty and make equitable decision over the land for the benefit of the parties involved.

….that the MD of Private Estate International West Africa Ltd should apologize to the Hon Commissioner For Lands Surv Victor Nnam for the defamation of his hard earned character.
