As the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) intensifes its Nationwide Campaign Against Cultism, Substance/Drug Abuse, Thuggery/Violence, Sexual and Gender Based Violence and Other Vices across the federation as directed by the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Coordinators for various states and Zonal command has emerged.
For Zone 12 Police Zonal Command covering Bauchi and Gombe states command we have SP Thomas Goni, for Bayelsa state police command we have SP Asinim Butswat, Adamawa state police Command is DSP Suleiman Yahaya, Gombe is SP Mary Malum while Sokoto state is ASP Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq.
The new coordinators have also assured they will carry out a vigorous campaign in order to help save Nigerian Children and Youths from the Claws of Cultism and other vices by working with different stakeholders and galvanizing their support in line with the tenets of the commmunity oriented policing.
Reacting to the development, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu expressed confidence on their appointment as POCACOV coordinators for their various states and assured that POCACOV as a community policing and public Relations tools, will continue to work with different stakeholders using community policing tools and galvanizing stakeholders support with a view to getting to the root of all crime especially Cultism, Substance Abuse, Thuggery/Violence, Sexual and Gender Based Violence and other vices with a view to resolving them thereby saving Nigerian Children and Youths from its menace and inherent dangers thereby achieving a safe and secured society.
