…As governor assures total support
The leadership of the Nkanu Youth Council (NYC) today, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state at the state government house.
The visit of the Nkanu youths executive, led by its national president, Rt. Comr. Monday Diamond Ani, heralded a productive meeting with the students/youth most-friendly governor and made a formal presentation of their leadership cum short/long-term programs template.
The president of the apolitical youth organization who extolled Ugwuanyi’s leadership qualities noted that “it has propelled unprecedented peace, security, economic growth, youth inclusiveness and administrative gender-balance in Enugu State.”
While presenting the template on behalf of the delegate, Ani emphasized on the cardinal vision and mission of NYC which is saddled with propagation of unity, peaceful co-existence in Nkanu land, youth emancipation, defence of interest and image of an Nkanu man and its territorial integrity and charged the governor to continue in his quest for a quality service delivery to the good people of the state, saying, “for just like Oliver Twist, the good people of Enugu state still yearn for more.”
Some of the patrons Prof. Edmond Ugwuagbo, Hon. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe (SPA on Agriculture) and Rev. Dr. Chinedu Nwoye (Coordinating Evangelist Christ Ascension Church worldwide and Spiritual Director of NYC), present at the meeting, also commended the governor for being “a mentor and a humble servant of the people,” while appealing to him to remember his promise of equitable power transition.
In his reaction, Governor Ugwuanyi admonished the youth body even as he assured of his total support for a progressive partnership with NYC that will attract more transformations, peace and development to the state.
