Fidelity Advert
…Demand FG’s attention to address the issue

We members of Global Youths Representatives; a notable youth organisation that span across the 36 States of the federation wishes to thrown our weight behind the resolution of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) under Comr Ayubba Wabba and other affiliates Union on the proposed Nationwide strike with effect on Monday 28th September, 2020.

We equivocally frown on the the increasment of Electricity Tariff and Increase in petrol price in Nigeria considering the perilous situation posed by the novel Covid 19 which affected our nations economy, including the the “haves” and “have not”

We insist that, considering the fact that we in a democracy era, the wishes of the popular masses must prevail against all odds. The negative impact of Covid 19 on the average Nigerian speaks volume. Global Youths Representatives wonder why this development must occur when individuals are trying to cope with the hardship in the country occasioned by corona Virus Pandemic.

Global Youths Representatives observe that, the decision of Nigeria Labour Congress to embark on strike following the envisaged negative effect of Increase in Pump price and Electricity Tariff to labour Unions never contravene our nations constitution. And bewildered on why individuals are distraught and allowed themselves to be used as a willing tool to clampdown on the resolution of NLC for personal gain.

We wish to express our disappointment on some groups and individuals trying to sabotage the planned strike action under the guise of court injunction. And urged those fingered scouting to cease the proposed industrial action not cry more than the (FG) bereaved.

Nigeria Labour Congress and groups have right to press home their demand and disagree with the Federal Government on any policy perceived as inconsequential and unholy to them. The strike is timely and in line with democratic ideals. And as such, NLC shouldn’t be caged and turned to toothless bull dog.

We call on the Federal Government and President Muhammadu Buhari to address the issue squarely other than sitting on the fence with the mindset that the agitation of Labour Union is unjustifiable venture or nullity, as such will not avert the feelings of Nigerian on the increase in Pump price and Electricity Tariff or muscle NLC to stay aloof.

While urging Comr Ayuba Wabba not to bow to pressure on the decision of NLC, we equally resolved to join Nigeria Labour Congress leadership on the industrial action billed to take effect on Monday 28th September, 2020. And promise continue to be a voice of the voiceless and maintain honesty in chatting courses that will be of immense benefit to Nigerians.

Solidarity! Ever!!
