Barr. Nwoye while speaking at the meeting

The Enugu State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye has reiterated the preparedness of the party to win the forthcoming bye election in the state slated to hold on October 31st, 2020.

The APC chairman disclosed this on Sunday at the expanded caucus meeting of the party, stressing that it’s time for the party to take it’s rightful position as the minority leader in the State House of Assembly.

“We shall win Isi-uzo bye-election fair and square. We don’t care what other people are doing because there’s a difference between political association and a political party. While the later goes for election, the former doesn’t and makes only noise but we are a political party going to this election to win and become the minority leader,” Nwoye said.

Speaking at the event, the Director General, Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu commended the state chairman and his executives for their efforts in entrenching peace in the party.

“We need to commend Dr. Ben Nwoye and his State Executive Council members for the efforts they made in fostering peace and bringing back the original members of the party.

“Those from day one, joined the APC and for the past 8 years, though they haven’t gotten any reward, should continue to have trust in the party,” VON DG said.

On the upcoming Bye-Election, Mr. Okechukwu said the election should be an opportunity for the state to connect to the centre.

Also speaking, the immediate past Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Emma Enukwu called on all members of the party to embrace peace as that’s the only way the party will continue to grow from strength to strength.

The high point of the event was the official presentation of the party’s flag to their candidate for the Isi-uzo 31st October bye-election, Prince McDonald Ejiofor Okwor.
