•Advocates for ‘Nwa Nkanu agenda’ in 2023
The leadership and members of Nkanu Youth Council (NYC), has joined millions of Nigerians, the government and good people of Enugu state in commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary celebration.
NYC in its independence message noted that the celebration of the six decades of Nigeria’s existence as an independent colony, calls for sober reflection.
The youth body in the statement jointly signed by its president, Monday Ani and secretary, Chidera Okoye, extolled the leadership style and efforts of the incumbent administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi while advocating for a rotational system and zoning of the governorship seat to Nkanu land come 2023.
According to the statement, “The inevitable need for good governance by the leaders is our utmost desires. A Nigeria of our dreams for a viable economy, constant electricity, job opportunity, ethnic balance, maintenance of the doctrine of the federal character principle and equitable distribution of human and capital resources irrespective of ethnicity and religion, security, peace and unity of the nation.
“We commend the government of Enugu state under the able leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) for his leadership style of entrenchment of peace, unity, security, youth inclusion in governance, all round economic improvement and human capital development in the state.
“His leadership style has propelled an unprecedented development in the state and on this note, we say we are indeed happy and proud to be indigenes of Enugu state.
“However, while we commend the administration of Governor Ugwuanyi and the reaffirming of our support of this progressive administration to its glorious days, we wish to formally remind the good people of Enugu State on the Maintenance of Political Triangular Equilibrium otherwise known as the Charter of Equity and Political Rotational System that has fostered peace, unity and progress of Enugu state for over two decades.
“As this is the only key that opens the door of peace, security, unity and progress of Enugu state, we reterate our unalloyed resolve to support, propagate and actualize the NwaNkanu Political Agenda as we know that His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will graciously keep to his solemn promise of transiting power to an Nkanu man come 2023 because we know that by then it will be the NwaNkanu Agenda.”
