Ahead of the upcoming Summit in Delta state and as part of measures aimed at deepening its campaign across the state and communities, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in partnership with the Anti-cult Volunteer Corps(AVC) as well as Delta state Orientation Bureau shall be engaging community members.

The community members, as reported, shall be engaged within the following areas and zones in the state in a door-to-door campaign as follows: Ughelli – 9/10/2020, 12/10/2020, Burutu 16/10/2020, Sapele 19/10/2020, Agbor 23/10/2020, Ogwashi 26/10/2020 and Ozoro 30/10/2020.

The POCACOV/AVC door-to-door campaign with the Delta state Orientation Bureau will be spearheded by the Delta state chairman of POCACOV and the president of Anti-cult Volunteer Corp, Amb. Ogwu-Chinuwa Austyne Emu together with Barrister Azuka Uzum, a POCACOV stakeholder and the Director of Delta state Orientation Bureau amongst others.

According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “this is POCACOV way of deepening the campaign, involving different stakeholders and galvanizing of stakeholders’ support in line with the tenet of community-oriented policing and realization of Goal 16 (Peace, Security and Strong Institutions) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda for 2030.

“The activity will be rounded off with another stakeholders engagement programme billed to take place in Asaba, the state capital and involving the use of comedy in the campaign tagged ‘Yab Out Cultism’. It is going to be a rib cracking event through which the message of POCACOV will be sent to the members of the public on the dangers of cultism and other vices and the need to shun them for a safe and secured society.”
