All is now set for the first ever comedy show/tour flag-off by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Lagos state today by 6pm at D Island Hotel Addo road, Ajah.

The POCACOV comedy show/tour flag off is being organized by a Delta state-born notable comedian and master of ceremony and a POCACOV Ambassador known as O.V Kings alias MC Haleluyah and proudly supported by Cheque Empires entertainment also a POCACOV partner amongst other partners.

According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu represented by the POCACOV lead Ambassador Delta state and the president of the Anti-cult volunteer corps Delta state Amb Austyne Emu, “this is beyond the usual comedy show but a comedy tailored to be used to dissuade Nigerian children and youths from involving themselves in cultism, substance/drug abuse, thuggery and violence, sexual and gender based violence amongst other vices.

“We are using comedy which is an entertainment arm to pass the message of POCACOV which is community driven and youth oriented. We are passing the message of self reliant, becoming meaningful to themselves and to the society by the youths without involvement in cultism and other vices.

“The event is going to witness the attendance of broad spectrum of POCACOV ambassadors from Delta and Lagos states in the likes of Damola Olatunji, an actor, producer and a director amongst other notable POCACOV comedians, artiste, actors and actress.

“The comedy show/flag off of the comedy tour will trigger similar events in every parts of the country to help deepen the message of POCACOV through comedy.”

POCACOV is the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu which is aimed at saving Nigerian children and youths from the claws of cultism, substance/drug abuse, sexual and gender-based violence, thuggery/violence internet fraud and other vices through advocacy, awareness creation/sensitizations, mentoring and reorientation amongst others and using community oriented policing approaches which involves different stakeholders.
