His Royal Majesty King Ateke Michael Tom, Sekuro Niger Delta and Amanyanabo of Okochiri Ancient Kingdom of Okirika, Rivers state has thrown his weight behind the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) as the grand patron of the Rivers State POCACOV Volunteer Club for safer community and schools partnership.
The volunteer club is a community peace building scheme of POCACOV, the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu aimed at saving the Nigerian children and youths from the claws of cultism and other vices and providing alternatives and strategic leadership direction to them for a safe and secured society.
The Sekuro of Niger Delta who also commended the IGP and the Nigeria Police on POCACOV initiative which he described as a friendly policing techniques and all-encompassing because of its communal structure to involve all stakeholders, pledged to throw his support and to help galvanize stakeholders’ support to ensure that POCACOV achieves its mandate on youths and re-engineering through awareness creation/sensitization and mentoring and advised youths to remain law abiding and embracing POCACOV because of its friendly nature.
He disclosed this yesterday, October 9, in his Palace, Okochiri Ancient Kingdom of Okirika when the Rivers State POCACOV Coordinator, DSP Abdullahi Yusuf Idi, Amb. Sam Eke, the chairman of the state POCACOV Volunteer Club, Amb. Emmanuel Bulus, POCACOV stakeholder and others together with the divisional police officer Okirika Division of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Ikechukwu Sylvanus paid him a courtesy visit in his palace and to further galvanize stakeholders’ participation and support of POCACOV for safe school and community.
In his remarks, the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices(POCACOV), CSP Ebere Amaraizu represented by the Rivers state POCACOV Coordinator, thanked the Royal Father for his fatherly dispositions and acceptance to serve as a grand patron of the POCACOV volunteer club(PVC) for safer communities and school in the state and its environs.
He used the occassion to inform him about several POCACOV upcoming youths/community events as well as POCACOV South-South summit in the state.
Highlight of the the visit was the formal recognition of the Royal Majesty as the Grand Patron of the POCACOV VOLUNTEER CLUB(PVC) for safer community/school partnership.
