Executives of the Nkanu Youth Council (NYC) said it has completed her security visits and meetings with the security agencies in Enugu state.
The group said “the security meeting was aimed at synergizing with the security outfits in the state to further maintain and consolidate security in Enugu State, elspecially, Enugu East Senatorial Zone (Nkanu land) and also widen the scope of chances of admittance of some of our sons and daughters who often apply for security jobs in Nigeria.”
According to a statement by the group, those visited include; the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Maj. Gen. Lasisi Adegboye; the State Commissioner of Police Abdulrahaman Ahmed; the Director of State Security Services Mrs Linkinyo; the South-East Comptroller of Customs Olatunde Oyediran; and the Commander of NDLEA, Mr Abdullai Abdul.
Others includes, the Comptroller of Nigeria Correctional Services Emelue Joseph; The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps Commandant Ezenyimulu Valentine Afrika.
While addressing the security chiefs, the president of NYC, Comrade Monday Diamond Anih appreciated them for their respective roles in the maintenance of peace and security in the state and also charged them to do more in the discharge of their duties.
According to him, “We are the mouthpiece of the youths of Nkanu land, and in our quest to join hands with you in the security and defence of our territorial integrity, we commend you for your respective roles in ensuring peace and security in our dear state under the able leadership of Governor Ugwuanyi.
“We also charge you never to relent but synergize with every security stakeholders in the state to continue doing more in securing the lives and properties of our people.
“While we are ever ready to partner with the security bodies in Enugu, we humbly, on behalf of the youths of Nkanu land, demand for slots in the annual Force recruitment/intake to enable our sons and daughters who are desirous and passionate about serving the nation achieve their dreams.”
The leadership of NYC also presented the organization’s official membership ID Card to the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Abdulrahaman Ahmed and other security chiefs.
In their respective responses, they commended the leadership of Nkanu Youth Council for their zeal, dream and roles so far in maintaining peace and security in Nkanu land and Enugu state, while they pledged to heed to the demands of the Enugu East Senatorial District youths in ensuring fairness and consideration in applicant’s recruitment/intake.
