…tasks personnel to be courageous, firm in the discharge of their constitutional duties
…as CP lauds his leadership acumen

In continuation of his inspection tour of duty to State Police Commands affected during the recent hijacked and violent #EndSARS protests across the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, yesterday, visited the Enugu State Command.

Addressing officers and men of the Command, including Deputy Commissioners, Area Commanders, Operational/Tactical Units Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments at the State Headquarters, Enugu, the IGP commiserated with families of slain personnel and those injured during the unfortunate violent protests.

He charged the personnel not to allow their verve to work to be dampened by the rather barbaric violent attacks on the Police that was perpetrated by few misguided miscreants, who hijacked the hitherto peaceful protests.

He tasked them to go about discharging their constitutional duties in a more courageous, firm and professional manner for the sake of the majority of law-abiding citizenry who still appreciates the critical role the Police plays in the security of society.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, thanked the IGP for embarking on the tour to the Command, while lauding his unmatched leadership acumen, especially as exhibited during the unrest, which helped in minimizing the level of carnage the nation would have experienced in the wake of the crisis.

The IGP was accompanied in the tour by DIG Celestine Okoye (in-charge of the Force Information and Communications Technology Department and the Coordinating DIG for South-East Geo-Political Zone), DCP Frank Mba (Force Public Relations Officer), other Senior Police Officers and close friends.
