An angry mob early Tuesday morning, set two armed robbers ablaze in Ugbokodo, Okpe council area of Delta state.

The hoodlums were lynched along Ugbokodo Road, close to Holy Ghost Dominion Bible Church in the community around 7 am, The Nation learnt.

It was gathered that the hoodlums, a gang of four, began their operations at about 2 am.

While details of the incident were sketchy as of press time, the suspects were said to have raped a pregnant woman in the course of their operation.

They were said to have stolen an undisclosed sum of money and mobile phones.

Two of the suspects reportedly made away with some stolen items, while the others were caught.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, promised to call back with information but was yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.

A total of eight suspected armed robbers have been lynched in the past few weeks within the twin cities of Warri and Effurun. Two other cases have also been reported in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North council area of the state.
