The Enugu State Taekwondo Association in Partnership with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has successfully conducted its annual Taekwondo belting and grading of kids under the Taekwondo/POCACOV kiddies Programme for safer community/school as well as Boy and Girl Child empowerment.

The event which took place on the 20th of December, 2020 at the Taekwondo Kiddies training Arena near the indoor Sports Complex of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu was conducted by Teakwondo Coaches and Grandmasters in the likes of Coach Dennis, Musa, Chibuzor and Frankline Ekwerike.

According to the State Chairman of the Enugu state Taekwondo Association and the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu; “this is line with upgrade and belting ethics to identify with those kids that have lived up to the Taekwondo Tenets and technicalities which they are constantly being taught by our reputable Teakwondo coaches and grandmasters.

“Taekwondo game is beyond Sporting events because it ensures that any person in our taekwondo class be it adult or kid, imbibe the tenets of Taekwondo such as indomitable spirit, Modesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and importantly for the boy or girl child, ensuring that they are empowered with various teakwondo skills.

“Teakwondo as a game promotes good values which is needed to build a peaceful and discipline society and that is why the POLICE CAMPAIGN AGAINST CULTISM AND OTHER VICES has found the game as a veritable instrument for the campaign and to build a sound society.

“It has not been easy for us in the game of Taekwondo because a lot are involved to ensure that these kids get to where they want to be using taekwondo as a paltaform but we are grateful to God,and the never say die spitit of Our Coaches, Grandmasters, State Teakwondo board Members, parents of the kids and importantly the efforts of the Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Enugu State, Tony Manfred Nzekwe.”

The grading and belting of the kids to their next taekwondo levels brought to an end, the 2020 session with 2021 session billed to commence on 9th January, 2021.
