…Says it’s in line with presidential vision and mission on youth development
Some stakeholders of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) have hailed the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu on the POCACOV initiative of the Nigeria Police Force as well as his structured program to be embarked upon in 2021 tagged “Self Discovery Program For Nigerian Youths”, saying it was in line with the presidential vision and mission of youth value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction which is contained in the presidential address to Nigerians on the new year day.
This was made known during a POCACOV virtual meeting with stakeholders across the federation on January 2, 2021 coordinated by the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu from the IGP M.A Adamu Pocacov Resource Centre in Enugu.
The meeting was anchored on stakeholders’ participation and involvement and galvanizing of their support for the actualization of the laudable objectives for national growth and development as well as community peace, safety and security.
According to one of the POCACOV stakeholders, Amb. Darlington Onuoha Kalu who also is the president of African Association of Small and Medium Enterprise (AASME) and currently the Abia state chairman of the Pocacov Volunteer Clubs(PVC) of safer school and community, “POCACOV program of Self Discovery for Nigerian youths revolve around youth value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction which will make them self-reliant and meaningful as well as promotion of entrepreneurial spirit.
“The spirit of do-it-yourself as well as ingenuity, resourcefulness, creativity and innovative is the key.”
He, however, commended the presidential position on youth oriented program and assured that their creative energies will be actively engaged.
On his part, the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu maintained that the Self Discovery program of the Nigerian youth for 2021 will be in total compliance with the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu servant-leadership mindset which will make Nigerian youths to constantly discover their potentials by embracing positivism and eschewing negative tendencies that tends to shut them off from achieving their positive desires.
“A module have been developed and approved by the Inspector General of Police to run in clusters with a view to tapping into the overall essence of the Nigeria Police Force dwelling on the realization of public safety and security and in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing,” Amaraizu added.
It could be recalled that POCACOV is a soft power of the Nigeria Police Force, a reformatory tool of public relation and a community policing tool working with Nigerians who are stakeholders/policing actors and galvanizing their support to save Nigerian children from the claws of cultism and other vices. POCACOV is also involved in youth value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction for a safe, peaceful and secured communities through stakeholders involvement and participation.
