Fidelity Advert
Prof. George Obiozor

The President General of Igbo Apex sociocultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo; Amb. Professor George Obiozor has said that the Igbos don’t want beggary leaders anymore as a leader must stand for something and be assertive insisting that we have had enough of the nonsense.

The accomplished diplomat made the statement during his maiden World Press Conference held in Enugu on Wednesday, 20th January since after the election that produced him as the PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on 10th January, 2021.

Prof. Obiozor maintained that: “It is obvious at this critical time in our history, leadership of Ndigbo ought to transcend partisan politics, make-believe, rhetorics, propaganda and shadow-boxing.

“In other words, it is imperative that the primacy of Igbo interest, as opposed to self-seeking agenda and mere political ambition should be the bedrock on which Igbo desirable and leadership today must be anchored.”

The new Igbo leader also said that the security of Ndigbo will be their top priority while in office.

“Security and safety of Ndigbo will be our priority. Speaking frankly, my decision to contest for the office of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide was a decision not based on self aggrandisement, personal ambition or self promotion. By my age and career history, I have long outgrown all that.

“Indeed, my most compelling reasons were crucial service at one of the most critical time in Nigerian history with dare consequences, particularly, for Ndigbo as a national entity. Generally, not only has governance become both difficult and complex in Nigeria, but downright and existential treat to Ndigbo in particular,” Prof Obiozor said.
