There was tension in Ojorowo community as money making ritual group kidnapped, tortured and threatened to kill Mr Ede Christopher Okwuchukwu for refusing to take over his father’s position and become a member of the occult group.

It was learnt that since Okwuchukwu’s father died, the fraternity had made a lot of advances to lure him to join and replace his father’s position but to no avail but luck ran out of him when they used his friend to trap him down on the 14th of January 2021.

Mr Okwuchukwu testifying how he was saved from the fraternity members by neighborhood watch/Local Vigilante Security operatives at Ojorowo Bridge security check point along Nara-Nkerefi Road axis, said it was to the mercy of God.

According to the report gathered by our correspondent, the kidnappers bribed Mr Ede Christopher Okwuchukwu’s close friend, (Emeka Ejim), to lure him to a burial ceremony at Nkerefi Town on 14th of January 2021.

The victim explained that he accepted to go with his friend without any premonition of betrayal. However, along the road, the friend picked another four friends at different locations to convince him that he wanted his arrival at the ceremony ground to create attention.

”I have always known him as someone who likes to show off an expensive class therefore it was not a doubt to me while others should joined us in the car.

“But after about an hour drive on a lonely road, three of the men sitting close to me at the back opened a conversation that I had finally been caught in their trap net, also that my late brother and I desecrated the fraternity oath by proving stubborn, sending police after them and defiantly refusing to replace position which my late father took oath when he was alive and when such covenant is breached the blood of his sons, (family) shall be used to appease and consecrate the gods of the almighty fraternity.

“That was the oath my father took that gave him success in life. After their narration, my consciousness came up and I wanted to shout but they brought out knife, gun and brown powder wrapped with red cloth and warned me to co-operate or they would skin me alive.

“I tried to shout but their voices were very unfriendly, thunderous and face so grim which left no teeth squirmed for joke. I managed to call
out the driver, being my friend,(Emeka) but he pretended to be under duress as well.

“I later found out his mischief as master-mind of the kidnap.
Overwhelming fear gripped my skin and goose pimples was all over me. That was when I tried to hold back the driver to halt the car but they held me back, started hitting me with all kinds of weapon they had but that could not sedate the fear in me before they spread the brown powder wrapped in a red-cloth and I fainted, lost consciousness.

“The next place I found myself was in the hospital surrounded with the head of vigilante, and men who I believed could be police detectives. The head of the vigilante started explaining how they brought me to the hospital.

“My leg popped out of the boot of a Mercedes-Benz car that drove past them and they had to stealthily follow the car confirms that the victim might have been kidnapped by the culprit, they opened fire along roadside and run for their lives.

“The vigilante took me away from the car, headed straight to the hospital where I was receiving treatment and invited the police and other technical crew,” he narrated.
