Federal commissioner representing Enugu state at the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, (RMAFC) Mrs Maria Aniobi, and other party faithfuls, on Friday, officially revalidated their membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state.
The membership registration and revalidation exercise of the ruling APC in the local government council was flagged off by the commissioner at her polling unit; Ndiugwu Primary School, Obiofu Amoji of Okpulo in Nenwe ward 1, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Mrs Aniobi’s membership was revalidated alongside the caretaker committee chairman of the APC in Aninri, Mr Moses Emeka Ezeh, and other members of the community who thronged the ward to register their membership of the party.
Speaking during the exercise, Mrs Aniobi said she was happy to be at her ward to revalidate her membership of the APC, urging the people of Aninri local government council to come out en masse to register their membership of the party in order to be recognized as critical stakeholders of the party in the state.
She said: “I came here to revalidate my membership in APC which I have done and we have distributed all the materials for everybody to go to their various polling units and preach the gospel of APC so they can join the party.
“APC needs many people so that our people will be co-owners of the party. We want to have a brand new APC; no longer APC of the old.
“If you register en mass, you become co-owners of APC and anything APC is sharing, you get your own share.”
She maintained that APC remains the best political party in Nigeria and means well for the people of Aninri as it is rebranding to cater the needs of the people, expressing confidence that the party would zone its presidential ticket to the South East come 2023.
“The party is wonderful. I will keep on supporting APC and I will tell all the good people I know, those who wants good things to happen to support APC. APC is the best party in Nigeria.
“Definitely, I am confident that the party will zone the presidential ticket to the South East. That one is basic provided our people come out in mass to register in order to grab it. If you don’t follow APC, nobody will give it to you,” she added.
Also in his address during the revalidation exercise at the Okpulo village square polling unit, the APC caretaker committee chairman in Aninri, Mr Moses Ezeh said APC was a blessing to the people of Aninri.
According to him, “APC is a blessing to the people of Aninri because this is the first time an Aninri person, either son or daughter is holding such a position that our daughter, Hon. Mrs Maria Aniobi is holding today, being a Federal Commissioner on Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission and I can tell you that the APC has done a lot of good to our people.
“At least for the first time, we are having this kind of coal tarred roads, passing through Nenwe, Oduma to Mpu, up to Akaeze in Ebonyi state. For the first time we are having a good road network in Aninri courtesy of the Buhari-led federal government.
“From what we witnessed today, everybody wants to join APC in Nenwe ward 1 and I tell you that 2023 will show a good result on that.”
Speaking on the issue of zoning the 2023 presidential ticket to the South East, Mr Ezeh noted that although APC has no zoning in its Constitution, he was confident that the South East will produce the next president of Nigeria.
