…Calls for arrest of Chinasa Nwaneri, others for assaulting him and his aides

The Senator representing Imo West senatorial zone, Rochas Okorocha have accused the governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, of attempting to instigate fear amongst Imolites.

Speaking to his supporters after his encounter with the police on Sunday, Sen. Okorocha alleged that the Governor is using thugs to cause mayhem in the state and “this is a wrong direction that he might not end well with.”

The former Governor said the Governor should be more concerned with the deteriorating security situation in the state.

“Governor Hope Uzodinma, for what happened yesterday, has simply displayed criminality in governance, thuggery in governance and is creating unnecessary tension where there’s no need for it.

“Imo today is very unsecured, for the first time since 9 years. Now, you go to Orlu, even the Air Force fighter jets for the first time since after the civil war would come round Orlu. Yesterday alone, 10 houses were burnt down in Ugwuta, everyday, people are being killed in this state, being intimidated by the governor and his thug.

“I don’t know what the Governor wants to achieve, but I think he wants make everybody to fear him. He has also introduced a law through the state House of Assembly that empowers him to detain people at will, that law is barbaric and most be condemned.”

Continuing, Okorocha accused the governor of taking a personal attack on him and his family and called for the arrest of some of the governor’s aides and the government House police.

“The acts of the government House police yesterday should be brought to question. I want to ask, that the inspector General of Police should direct immediately, the arrest of Chinasa Nwaneri and Eric Uwakwe who led the thugs that attacked me and my aides, macheted my orderly and shooting my staff while the police looks on.”
