In line with the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force towards sensitizing members of the public to particularly young minds and other relevant stakeholders through community driven approaches and in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing on the dangers of cultism, thuggery/violence, substance and drug abuse, internet fraud, sexual and gender-based violence and other related vices in the society for a safe, peaceful and secured community, the Anambra state Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force through its POCACOV state coordinator, SP Chukwudi Okorogu with his team of POCACOV Volunteer Clubs for safer school and community on 27th February, 2021 conducted a community engagement program at Njikoka Local Government where they carried out massive sensitization of youths and stakeholders in attendance on the dangers of cultism and other vices.

They were also sensitized on the need to say No to substance and drug abuse because of its physical and health implication and the ability to push them into crime and criminality especially cultism and other vices.

Participants expressed happiness with the friendly move adopted by the the Nigeria police Force which they described as Community Policing at Work and commended the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu on POCACOV initiative.

They however expressed their willingness to partner the state police command under Cp Monday Bala Kuryas.

The community engagement program is part of the ongoing nationwide campaign by the Nigeria police force against cultism and other vices.

POCACOV is the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu structured as a community driven program to work with different stakeholders towards sensitizing Nigerian children and Youths thereby saving them from the claws of cultism and other vices and for a safe,peaceful and secured communities. As a community driving program, POCACOV is involved in advocacy, awareness creation and sensitizations, reorientation and mentoring.
