The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) has concluded modalities and arrangements for its community driven activity tagged “POCACOV In My Community Season 2” with a campaign album launch titled“Evil Has Taken Over The World”and we need peace and love by POCACOV musician and artiste Innocentus at Obolloafor Roundabout by court premises in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state on 21/3/2021.

According to the POCACOV National Coordinator, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “the community driven activity is part of the ongoing effort of the POCACOV and in line with the Public Safety and Security Framework of the Nigeria Police Force to enhance safer community and school.

“It cut across major cities and locations such as Warri, Ogoni, Auchi, Aba, Okene, Kano, Jos, Karu, Minna, Katsina, Zamfara amongst other cities. POCACOV in my community will be involving different stakeholders and galvanizing their support to spotlight on the dangers and effect of these evils in our society and the need to embrace peace and love for a safer community and school.

“Already the Campaign Musical Album has carefully outlined these evils giving us problem in our society and the need to ‘say no to them’ for a peaceful society filled with love. All of us live in the community and these evils pervade in the community and it was not so before hence we call on attitudinal change and that’s why POCACOV is on value reorientation and by all joining hands together to say no to them before they cause more damage to the society.

“The first phase of POCACOV in my community was launched with an album titled ‘POCACOV People Dem Dey Come To Give You Peace And Joy’in Rivers state last year by our POCACOV Ambassador Aniekan Unwana of the Swag Empire Comedy in partnership with POCACOV Rivers state chapter.

“The POCACOV In Community season 2 will witness the presence of broad spectrum of POCACOV Ambassadors, NYSC POCACOV Community Development service members, Pocacov Volunteer Club for safer school and community, POCACOV Campus Directorate Affairs, POCACOV Fan Clubs for safer school and community, Faith-based organizations, Community-based organizations, Security agencies, Market organization/leaders, National Union of Road Transport workers, Artisans, amongst others.

“There will be talk and shows on the dangers of cultism, substance and drug abuse, trafficking in persons/smuggling of migrants, sexual and gender based violence, advance fee fraud/internet fraud(aka Yahoo Yahoo), sex for grade and marks, admission, employment, promotion, criminal divorce of wife or husband by declaring falsely to marry someone in overseas to procure residential papers, sorting of scripts in our higher institutions, armed robbery, false declaration/falsification of documents and figures, corruption/greed amongst other societal ills which has thrown the community in jeopardy.

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices(POCACOV) is a community driven program of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu structured in line with the tenets of the community oriented Policing (C.O.P) and involving different stakeholders using community oriented approaches of forum base, activity base and community committee members to save Nigerian children and youths from the claws of cultism and other vices through advocacy, awareness creation and sensitization, reorientation and mentoring for a safe, peaceful and secured community.
