The National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV), CSP Ebere Amaraizu has revealed that the IGP M.A Adamu Pocacov Resource Centre Enugu is developing a module on the Primary school essay competitions across the nation.
He made this known on Tuesday in Enugu while reacting on the work plan for 2021 to deepen the campaign message of POCACOV in primary and secondary schools for safer school and self discovery.
According to him, the essay competition module is predicated on the subject matter “What Do You Want To Become In Future”, saying that “this will serve as a compass for the young minds as well as a guide and will be strenghtened with the POCACOV Information Guide book titled ‘I Need To Know’.”
“The program which is in line with the IGP Adamu’s Crime Management work plan linked to the Public Safety and Security Framework of the Nigeria Police Force, will serve as a platform of value reorientation and equipping them with right information which will lead to their self-discovery and importantly helping to cut the supply chains and conveyor belt of their possible exposure/involvements in crime and criminality especially cultism and other vices.
“It is an avenue that will also be used to draw them to the police and expose them to career opportunities in the Nigeria Police Force. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE IN FUTURE will elicit their Self Discovery ability in the areas of life coping, entreprenural and manipulative skills. It is also designed to give them strategic leadership direction.
“It is a program of action that will be vigorously pursued by broad spectrum of POCACOV Ambassadors, Volunteers, POCACOV NYSC Community Development Service(POCACOV NYSC CDS), POCACOV Fan Clubs for safer school and community.”
POCACOV is the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu aimed saving Nigerian children and youths from the claws of cultism and other vices through stakeholders participation and involvement.
