The Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area, Engr. Prince Uche Nwobodo, yesterday, received the award winner of the recently concluded Presidential Science Competition, Master Izuchukwu Godswill Edeani of Airforce Comprehensive School, Agbani, along with the School Commandant Air Wing F. Yusuf and a team of Nkanu youths led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani.

Master Edeani who hails from Nara, Unateze in Nkanu East local government, came first in the keenly contested Presidential Science Competition conducted in Abuja last month, a fit that attracted a presidential award and other rewards from Enugu State Government and other leaders of Nkanu land to the young man.

Speaking at the reception, Engr. Nwobodo eulogized Master Edeani for making Nkanu people and Enugu State proud. He also extolled the outstanding leadership of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The local government chairman who made some financial support to the family of Master Edeani and the Management of Airforce Comprehensive School said it was to motivate the school to continue to do its best in breeding the best heads in the school.

On his part, Governor Ugwuanyi’s aide, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani who also doubles as the National President of Nkanu Youth Council, commended Master Edeani for making the youths of Nkanu land proud through his academic ingenuity. He applauded the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for providing an enabling environment for students to excel academically and morally.

In attendance at the reception were the Secretary of the local government, Supervisors, some leaders of Nkanu youths and some staff of the local government.
