Enugu State has been selected by the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC to host the South-East Zonal rally of the party.
The rally is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 30th, 2021 at the Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu.
Speaking with Journalist101, Dr. Ben Nwoye, Chairman APC Caretaker Committee Enugu State said the event will feature the official unveiling of APC Southeast Zonal Office.
Speaking further, Nwoye said Enugu APC is very prepared to host the members of the party in the zone. He also revealed that H.E Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, APC Governors, all the Ministers from the South East and all party bigwigs from the region are expected to grace the occasion.
Nwoye also said that “the rally signifies unity of purpose and an indication that the party is growing from strength to strength as this will be the first time a rally of such magnitude is being held in Enugu,” and this rally will “make the world know that APC is very much on ground in the South East.”
He pointed out that the APC is competing favourable with the PDP in the zone as both party have 2 governors each.
“APC has two governors and the PDP has two, people know this fact but deliberately ignore it and continue with the rhetorics that South East is PDP.”
Nwoye also said that the rally will also witness the official defection of many people into the party.
