Fidelity Advert
Dr Ben Nwoye and Sen Ken Nnamani

The caretaker committee Chairman of Enugu State All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye has thrown his weight behind the meeting of the stakeholders of the party called by the former president of the Senate, Ken Nnamani.

Dr. Nwoye who made his position known while reacting to a media statement by a group- APC Leaders Forum said Nnamani as at today, is the leader of the APC not just in Enugu State but the entire south east as the highest ranking member of the party.

APC Leaders Forum had in statement made available by the Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Prof. Ekwe Xistus, on Thursday, feared that more troubles are looming for the party if the leaders does not refrain from calling unconstitutional meetings with resolutions that are tantamount to nullity.

They went on to advise Sen. Nnamani to “Always be guided by the constitution of the party and ensure that its stipulations on meetings are strictly adhered to.”

But reacting to the statement, Dr Nwoye said it was a wrong move by the the group to bring such matters to the Media as there are other channels they could have used to pass their message without going public.

The APC Chairman disclosed that Sen. Nnamani is a very open fellow and accessible to all and phone call by the group would have saved the situation.

“Whatever issue they had as a group, Distinguished Senator Ken Nnamani who’s our leader and the leader of the APC in the South is an accessible gentleman and whatever issue they have, they could have taken it to him. He’s available through the phone and through personal interview.

“The leader of the group who’s a professor ought to known better that in political engagement, you achieve more by negotiation than you will achieve by confrontation or attacks.”

Dr. Nwoye also called on the party members to work together to ensure that the party continues to grow like its doing in the peaceful atmosphere that exists in the party.

“It’s not a time to add to some of the already self-inflicted injury which we in Enugu State are still healing the wounds and making all attempts to be a united party going into the upcoming congresses,” warning that they must avoid a repeat of what happened in the national convention of the party in 2017 were “disharmony in APC Enugu State paved a way for them to be denied entrance at the National convention which is an eyesore.

He went on to say that Sen. Nnamani has every right to call for such meeting in any state of the South East and enjoined the group to follow the party’s Constitution in expressing their feelings or reaching out to him for the sake of the party whose growth and development is paramount.
