No fewer than six persons died in multiple crashes over the weekend in Bauchi state, The Federal Road Safety Corp has confirmed.

Ten other persons were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crashes that involved 16 passengers.

The Nation gathered the casualties comprised four male adults, one female adults and one male child.

Commander, FRSC, Bauchi Sector Command, Assistant Corp Marshall, Yusuf Abdullahi, said the accident, which involved three vehicles was caused by wrongful overtaking.

He said one of the vehicles, a white Toyota Hiace Bus belongs to the Ministry of Justice, Gusau, Zamfara State.

Abdullahi added the other two were private vehicles, a Saloon and Peugeot 406, with registration number: KNT503JF.

According to him: “After we got the call, our men from the Ningi Station Office immediately responded within 10 minutes and got to the scene for rescue operation.”

He added the crash occurred at Gumero Village about 15 kilometers to Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa local government area along Bauchi – Kano road highway in Bauchi state, on 12th June, 2021 around 4.05pm.

He said further the victims were taken to Kafin Madaki and Ningi General HHospital
