Hon. Obieze addressing the meeting

…Say those who signed it are on their own

Leaders of Ezeagu local government area of Enugu State has distanced themselves from the purported meeting of stakeholders of Enugu West Senatorial zone.

On June 10th, some persons under the aegis of “Enugu West Stakeholders” issued a Communique after the end of a purported meeting saying that they are against the zoning of governorship seat in the state. The meeting also argued that there was no formal agreement of zoning in the state.

But after their meeting today in Ezeagu, the Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party and other leaders denied knowledge of any Stakeholders meeting or communique signed for or on behalf of the Stakeholders of the Party from their council.

In a motion moved by the Hon. Member Representing Ezeagu Constituency Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze and seconded by LG PDP Chairman Ozor Anayo Chiude, the meeting unanimously disowned the Communique and reiterated that Ezeagu is wholly and entirely with Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Moving the motion, the Hon. Member said: “We know our Stakeholders and in Ezeagu before we take any action, we meet and agree. We’re patiently waiting for the Leader of the Party in the State; Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi For direction and until we have that direction, we are not part of any scheme to thwart the peaceful zoning system we enjoy in Enugu State.

“Our decision is to support Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi till his late minute in the office and Governor and to continue to celebrate him even when he has left office. Anyone in Ezeagu planning otherwise is on their own and at the appropriate time, they will see they are on a futile journey”.

Seconding the motion the LG chairman said that as long as his office is concerned: “We are not aware of neither a Stakeholders meeting nor any Communique”. Insisting that what he saw on social media is nothing but “a forged paper intended to be used to deceive the general public.”

The meeting also said a special prayer for the member representing Ezeagu constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly.
