Nnamdi Kanu and lawyer, Ejiofor

Lead Counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor has confirmed the rearrest and repatriation of Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria.

In a shared circulated statement published on his social media account on Tuesday, Ejiofor stated the IPOB leader was repatriated to continue his court cases on treasonable felony.

The Lawyer revealed Kanu was today, 29 June brought before the Federal High Court Abuja without his consent but was hence adjourned to resume 26th July 2021.

Barrister reminded that despite the gravity of the offenses brought against his client, the constitution provided under section 36(5) assumes Nnamdi Kanu remains innocent until proven otherwise.

The IPOB lawyer further insists on a fair hearing and trial as the constitution requires to be accompanied to his client while the fortified legal team to be led by his humble self prepares to meet the said date.

He also reminded that Kanu’s safety is guaranteed pending the continuation of his case.

He, however, assures to be relaying updates regards the court matter and condition of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu as the case progresses.

Earlier on Tuesday, viral pictures of Kanu surfaced on pages of social platforms having handcuffs indicating his rearrest.
