The Eminent Peace Ambassador award is the highest and most outstanding recognition to those whose life exemplify the ideal of living for the sake of others and who dedicate themselves to promote universal moral values and establishment of cultural value system predicated on trust and peace.

Amah’s appointment as Peace Advocate is in consonance with the UN General Declaration of the year 2001/2011 as International Decade for Peace and Non-violence and UNESCO Culture of Peace as enshrined in the UN Declaration of Peoples Right to Peace.

Hon. Amah, one of the foremost and most qualified APC chairmanship aspirant in Enugu state is currently a member of the APC National Executive Council (NEC), serving in the capacity of the Zonal Organizing Secretary, South East.

‘Organizer’ as he is fondly called by people that knows the depth of his political dexterity and managerial acumen is a youth in body and mind such that his physical energy cum intellectual prowess is the only anti-dote to the long lasting crisis in Enugu State.

Hon. Amah has served the entire South East and delivered excellently well in his duties which is quite evidential in APC states in Southeast today.

Speaking briefly on his prospects and agenda for the party as the incoming chairman of Enugu APC, Hon. Amah said he will be bringing in his wealth of knowledge and experience to lead the party to its Eldorado.

He noted that he has been in the party since its formation, adding that he has the ability to withstand pressure from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and position the APC to win elections in the state.

According to him, “I have been a member of this party since inception and I believe I have residual knowledge of the inner workings of the party, not just as an active member, I have contested for Enugu state House of Assembly under our party in 2015 and lost. I also contested again at the 2018 national convention of our party in Abuja and was elected the zonal organizing secretary, APC Southeast. Working in the party, I believe I can do better than other candidates, considering my experience and exposure.

“Being a member of the NEC where certain decisions at the highest level are being taken, I believe I have garnered the experience and I’m young too because it requires energy and vibrancy. That’s what drives me to aspire to be the chairman of our party.

“Looking at my antecedent, I’ve never been found wanting. I’ve been working for the party. In fact, I see myself as a rallying point because before I declared my interest to run, I spoke to all the leaders and I’m on the same page with them.”

Asked what he would do to step up the party as a strong and viable opposition to the ruling PDP, he said: “It has to do with the capacity to resist undue external interference from the opposition or what you can call (selling out the party). I’m not looking for estates or phantom homes to buy anywhere because by the grace of God we’re doing our bit business-wise.

“What I really want to do is to build the party, strengthen the system and unite our people so that they can benefit from what they laboured for. I believe that when I become the chairman, I have the capacity to withstand every pressure and do everything we can within our powers to win elections and that is when members of the party can benefit.”

He urged all party faithfuls and his fellow contenders to rise unanimously in support of his candidacy for total restoration, reorganization and rejuvenation of the dignity of the party, for vibrant opposition in Enugu State and above all, the eventual takeover of the Lion Building come 2023.
