The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Mr Uchenna Ubosi, has charged the Local Government Development Area administrator nominees to remain in their places of assignment or in the alternative reject the appointment.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi recently nominated 68 people who were cleared by the Assembly to serve as the council administrators.
Speaking during the screening of the nominees during plenary, Ubosi said, “I want to tell the nominees that they should live in their areas. If you know that you are not going to live with your people, don’t take the appointment.
“Experience has shown that most of the administrators hardly go to their offices but only collect their stipend and this is why most of the time, the development area centres are overgrown with weeds. Please if you know that you are not going to live in your areas, you had better not accept the appointment.”
