As the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC in Enugu State rages on, more groups are trooping out to throw their weight behind the State Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party known by the National Leadership of the party.
The recent group to re-echo that Nwoye remains the Boss is G-34; a youth wing of the party whose members cut across the 260 wards in the state.
The group expressed shock that anyone how much more, supposedly informed politicians are accusing Nwoye of not being a good party man when he (Nwoye) has been the life wire of the party investing both his time and financial resources.
The groups coordinator, Hon. Offor Chukwuonwe (Onye Army) and his deputy, Hon. Ezenwa Okechukwu (Mmiri Malu Ugo) in a press statement made available to newsmen in Enugu said these persons fermenting problem in the party are very dishonest to themselves because they don’t do as little as call for a meeting in their respective wards except during elections and congresses, to trade off the party.
“Some of these persons parading as party leaders in Enugu State are nothing but mare business men and women. We are in all the wards and polling units in Enugu State and haven’t seen any of them hold a meeting of the APC in their wards. You only see them when we’re having elections or congresses.
“It’s laughable when we hear them say the party hasn’t won election in Enugu State. The memory of what we did during the 2017 local government elections is still fresh in our memory. Since these Abuja heavyweights joined us, have we been able to replicate that? The answer is no and we all know why.”
G-34 maintained that they are “solidly behind Dr Nwoye to continue with his good work until when he will handover the mantle having said he’s not seeking reelection. We will resist all attempt to intimidate him and his leadership in the state.
They urged Nwoye to “disregard the distraction and continue to discharge his duty as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Enugu APC.”
