Imo State Police Command has said it is investigating a video of alleged disruption of the ongoing West African Examinations Council (WAEC) at the comprehensive secondary school Nkume community, Njaba Local Government area of the state by unknown gunmen.

The video which appeared online in the midday of Monday, 13th September showed students and invigilators running out of the school while gunshots were being fired.

The invading hoodlums also set motorcycles belonging to the teachers and students ablaze.

In his reaction to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Imo, CSP Mike Abattam, said that the police were still checking the video clips to ascertain the truth before issuing any statement.

“Yes we have seen the video, we are still verifying its authenticity because anything can happen on social media,” he said.

There’s serious confusion surrounding the continued enforcement of the. Mondays sit-at-home order as the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has issued a statement cancelling the order and said that they will only declare a ghost town anyday their leader, Nnamdi Kanu will be appearing in Court.

Four weeks after this announcement by the Head of Directorate of State and publicity Secretary of IPOB, Chika Edoziem and Emma Powerful, respectively, the order is still being enforced and properties worth millions have been lost in the process.
