The security outfit of the Indigenous People of Biafra, the Eastern Security Network, ESN, said they have apprehended some hoodlums that are enforcing the sit-at-home in parts of Imo state.

The enforcement of the sit-at-home order has come under serious condemnation with people complaining about the destruction of their properties by the enforcers of the ghost town.

JOURNALIST101 recalls that IPOB had called of the Mondays sit-at-home threatening to deal with anyone that’s found enforcing the illegal order.

Emma Powerful, the Publicity Secretary of IPOB had warned that they will deal with anyone enforcing the sit-at-home order when it has been called off.

“We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to reiterate once again, that we have no other sit-at-home order after 14th September. Any other purported sit-at-home including the suspended weekly sit-at-home on Mondays does not exist in the dairy of IPOB. In fact, after September 14, there is no other sit-at-home this week. Any contrary news or speculations to this effect should be ignored.

“Anybody trying to enforce any sit-at-home order using the name of IPOB is a saboteur, and does so at his peril. If we catch anybody disturbing the peace of Biafrans or residents in Biafra land under the guise of enforcing non-existent sit-at-home order, such a person regret his actions because he will receive the reward of traitors.

“IPOB is a responsible organization with reasoning and empathy. We cannot be part of the problem we are trying to solve. We cannot join the enemies to compound the woes of our people we are fighting to liberate. That was why we suspended the ghost Mondays that we earlier declared because of the economic implications to our people,” Powerful had said in a Statement on Tuesday.

Hours after the press statement, the group posted a video on their Facebook page ‘Radio Biafra’ showing 3 young men lying down as the operatives of ESN queried them.

“ESN captured some youths in Imo state using the names of IPOB and ESN to commit horrible crimes, robbing and destroying people’s properties,” the post on Radio Biafra reads.

The heavily armed ESN operatives were seen in the video alleging that one of the hoodlums said he’s of the DSS.
