A yet to be identified staff of University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Enugu returning from work on Monday morning was shot at four corners, Nkanu West local government area of Enugu State.
The staff; a security officer at the College of Medicine at the hospital was on his way home in his tricycle (keke) when he was accosted by 3 masked men on a motorcycle.
The attackers shot the staff around his chest away from the heart area at a close range. Miraculously, he survived and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
Narrating what happened to him in a video seen by JOURNALIST101, the victim said he was returning him after his night shift before he was attacked by the men riding on a motorcycle (Okada).
“I have passed 4 corner and I was told not to follow there, while I was about turning, the men riding on an okada followed me, one of them passed me while the other person shot me.
“One of them asked their leader if they should just finished me, but their leader said no.”
