Reno Omokri, ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan says the recent raid on the Abuja residence of Mary Odili, Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria by security agents has to do with the ongoing leadership tussle in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and has nothing to do with the fight against corruption.

Omokri in a series of tweets on his verified handle on Saturday, said President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) “want Uche Secondus to scuttle the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP” stressing that its no coincidence that the day Secondus; is the suspended National Chairman of the PDP said he will be approaching the apex court, the home.

“The illegal and gestapo like raid on the residence of Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili on the same day that Uche Secondus announced he would be appealing to the a Supreme Court is not coincidental.

“It is a warning by Buhari. He wants Secondus to scuttle the PDP.

“Secondus is from Rivers state. Mary Odili is from Rivers. Buhari and the APC are jittery. They feel that Justice Odili will rule in favour of the PDP, so they are sending her a warning which they hope will influence her ruling.

“This is about 2023, not corruption!”

JOURNALIST101 had reported that security operatives acting on the now revoked search warrant invaded the Maitama home of Justice Odili on October 30th.

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami also issued a statement denying any involvement with the saga when it was discovered that the warrant was issued to a committee on recovery of looted assets that’s under his supervision.

Both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as the Department of State Services have distanced themselves from the invasion.

The apex court judge is the wife of Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers State, who has been having a running battle with the anti-graft agency.

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA has also condemned the action of the security agencies describing it as an assault on the Judiciary.
