The National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Enugu State chapter has honoured the head of communications, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh.

The EEDC image maker was recognized as the ‘Most Customer Friendly Personality of the Year’ during the NYAN’s annual summit held at the Enugu State House of Assembly.

Speaker of the Youth Assembly, Amb. Gabriel Odi said the award was in recognition and appreciation of Eze’s contribution to the growth and development of youths in Nigeria.

He equally acknowledged that there had been tremendous improvement in the services offered by EEDC in Enugu State and other South-East states.

According to him, “Customers are better informed, educated and sensitized via their sponsored radio programs and social media platforms, on the operations of the EEDC, which never happened in the past.

“In terms of customer service delivery, EEDC has also proved itself a customer centric enterprise in the way customers’ complaints are handled”.

Speaking after receiving the award, Ezeh thanked the leadership of NYAN for the recognition and assured them that the honour would not be taken for granted.

He assured them that EEDC was consistently working at improving the quality of its services and operations to achieve greater customer confidence.

“I appreciate our customers who are the reason we are in business and we will not rest until they are happy,” he noted.

Ezeh charged the youths to be more responsible and involved in the development of the nation, adding that, “they should begin to see themselves as the leaders of today and move away from the old narrative that has kept them as leaders of tomorrow.”
