Former Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani has lost his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Nnamani.
Mrs Nnamani died at the age of 85 in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States of America (USA) after a brief illness.
Her death was announced by the former governor and Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District.
Senator Nnamani who governed Enugu State between 1999-2007, also stated that her remains would be buried in Virginia, USA according to her wish, while she was alive.
The announcement however added that her traditional burial and funeral rites would be held in her home town, Ojiagu, Agbani, Nkanu West local government area of Enugu state on a date to be later annoounced.
Late Mrs Nnamani was survived by many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Senator Nnamani prayed that God grant his mother eternal rest and God give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
