Fordmax Nigeria limited with her partner, Lorentz Germany in collaboration with Enugu State Government have commenced the training of over 200 Youths from the South East region on capacity building through sustainable water technology.
The 2 weeks training which started on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2021 is expected to be completed on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at The Base land mark event Centre, Independence layout Enugu.
The event tagged ‘train the trainer’, will focus on teaching the beneficiaries the rope on Borehole Drilling, Water Treatment and Plant Management, Renewable Energy, Irrigation and Fire Fighting/ Fire Hydrant.
The training is designed for youths between the ages of 18 to 35 with a minimum qualification of National Diploman(ND), Bsc/HnD in Engineering or related Courses.
Speaking with Newsmen after the day-3 of the training, the Managing Director, fordmax Nigeria limited, Dr clifford Ofor Nnaji, stated that the reason behind the initiative is to give back to the society through a comprehensive empowerment of the youths in the South East region with the necessary knowledge on the areas highlighted above.
He disclosed that “Enugu State Government led by Governor ifeanyi Ugwuanyi bought the idea when it was shared with him gave it a massive support to ensure that the would be beneficiaries are given the proper training that would enhance their development in those areas.”
He called on all the participating youths, to utilise the opportunities presented to them through the training to learn new things and use it effectively for their growth.
According to Dr Nnaji “We are in the day 3 of the 3 weeks long programme and we have been doing our best, to give the South East Youths the best through this training.
“We are providing current knowledge and information on areas such as: Renewable Energy, Water Treatment, Water supply, Fire Fighting, Irrigation, amongst others.
“All these areas are where we are currently training the participants with a strong modern practical experience in line with the approved timetable for the programme and after learning, they are given the opportunity to do it themselves.
He also thanked Enugu State Government led by Governor ifeanyi ugwuanyi as well as his partners Lorentz Germany for their unalloyed support and commitment in ensuring that the training logistics are being provided without hitches.
In his remarks, the Executive Director Business Development, Fordmax Nigeria limited, Engr Ezeilo Livin stated that the training is the First of its kind in the state as they want to give the southerners a new knowledge different from what they used to know.
He also listed the timetable of the programmes lined up during the Course of the training and thus, urged all the participants to abide by the principles guiding the training at all times.
“The training commenced on Tuesday with delegation from Enugu State Government present to witness the occasion.
“We had prior to it, made radio announcements, appearances and using other forms of publicity to inform the public about the training.
“The training is different to what the participants used to see as we want to impact new knowledge and exposure to what they used to know or see”
“We have so far recorded over 325 participants which is a very big news and welcomed development and we are open to receiving more qualified participants before Saturday”
Engr Ezeilo also stated that reputable Engineering and Water techn companies and personalities across the globe such as : Schneider Electrics, Engr Babajide Ogunlesi, Dr Oteri, Engr Teferi, amongst others are all facilitators in the training.
In a webinar interview with Newsmen, the Business Development Manager, Africa and Middle East for Lorentz Germany company, Mr Kai Reinecke stated that, they are fully on ground to ensure that over 100% success is achieved during the training.
Mr Kai thanked the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his support and also the participants for seeing the need to utilise the opportunities presented.
Below is a run down programmes for the training starting from the first day till the last day:
24/25th of November: Bore hole drilling, Renewable Energy, Water supply and irrigation, bore hole drilling,
26th November: Fire Fighting /Fire Hydrant, Renewable Energy.
27th November: Practicals which includes; visit to 9th mile crash programme, practical Borehole Drilling and Water Treatment plant at HELIU Estate, Water Supply, Renewable Energy.
30th November: Borehole Drilling, Renewable Energy, Water supply, Irrigation,
1st December: Renewable Energy, Water supply, borehole Drilling, Renewable Energy.
2nd December: Water supply, entrepreneurial training by MD Dr Clifford Ofor Nnaji and Mr Bawa of Fordmax Nigeria limited,
3rd December: road walk, gala Night, presentation by each facilitating Group, Borehole Drilling, Treatment Plant, Water supply, Renewable Energy, launching of Product, award presentation.
