Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu, Sokoto and Kano states are currently licking their wounds as their internal wrangling denied them having a recognised Chairman in Abuja today.

With fanfare and heavy mobilisation, the various factions in the state gathered at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, but their hopes were dashed as the Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker Committee failed to recognise any of the factions.

In Enugu State, the party has three factions with each laying claim to the leadership of the party.

The Faction led by the outgoing Chairman of the party, Dr Ben Nwoye produced AC Ude as their chairman at the Congress held at the party’s secretariat, the faction led by Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of foreign Affairs produced a new entrant into the party, Barr Ugochukwu Agballa as their chairman while the last faction allegedly led by former governor, Sullivan Chime said their was no Congress in the state, thus their candidate, Group Captain Orji should be accepted having emerged through a consensus.

Journalist101 reliable gathered that the Senator Adamu led reconciliation committee recognised these three factions during their meeting in Enugu.

A source also told JOURNALIST101 that the committee had recommended the cancellation of the entire process in Enugu as a panacea for peace in the party in Enugu State.

The crisis in Enugu took a different dimension on the 18th of January when two chieftains of the party were murdered in cold blood during a reconciliation meeting of the party at Obeagu Awkunanaw ward III, Enugu South Local Government.

The story isn’t different in Sokoto State where the battle of supremacy between a former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and Senator Abubakar Gada, who represented Sokoto East in the National Assembly is shaking the party to its foundation.

Observers say the battle between the two APC bigwigs has thrown the party into serious confusion as it is causing more bickering and acrimony among its members.

The APC state congress produced two parallel executives as two factions held elections at different locations.

In Kano State, former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau is determined to Dislodge the faction loyal to the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Their own crisis have defied all plea and is currently at the Appellate Court after the High Court recognised the faction loyal to former Governor, Shekarau.
