Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Benin Depot, Alhaji Abdul-Hamid Egele, popularly called Baba Petrol, has regained his freedom after spending eleven days in the hands of his kidnappers.

A source who is said to be a member of the family revealed that Egele was released on Thursday after a ransom of N70Million was paid.

The source disclosed that while Egele was released in an undisclosed location in Edo state, the ransom was paid in far away Kaduna State.

“He was released yesterday (Wednesday) morning after a ransom of N70 million was paid in Kaduna”, he said.

“As we speak, he is in an undisclosed hospital in Benin receiving treatment”, he added.

JOURNALIST101 had reported that Egele was kidnapped on the 7th of February, 2022 in front of his house in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
