The residents of Al-Amin mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital were thrown into confusion in the early hours of Friday, as the body of an unidentified woman was recovered by a riverside in the area.
According to the report by Daily Trust, the remains of the woman believed to be in her early thirties, was found naked with only pants on her.
“It was one of my neighbours that alerted us that we should come and see what he saw.
“The lady in her 30, found naked only with pants on her, and there was a cut on her neck.
“It happened at the riverside, behind the Al-Amin Mosque.
“We immediately alerted the police, and they have come to evacuate the body to the morgue.
“It was a sad development,”the newspaper said quoting a resident.
However, the police and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have evacuated the body to a morgue.
