A former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Linan, has been reported to have sustained injuries in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack on Monday.
Recall that an Abuja-Kaduna bound train with almost a thousand passengers was attacked by terrorists on Monday.
According the state publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, the former deputy governor has been admitted to a military hospital in Kaduna State.
He said Malam Ibrahim was initially abducted by the terrorists during the attack but was rescued by the combined forces of the Department of State Services (DSS) and military operatives.
He said, “He was initially abducted but was rescued by joined efforts of the military and DSS operatives and during the process, he sustained various degrees of injuries in the leg as a result of the gun battle.”
“However, he is responding very much to treatment at the military hospital in Kaduna State,” he added.
