Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi

In Nigeria politics, anything is possible but what many students of political history never saw coming is a Rotimi Amaechi who has over the years, dissociated himself from anything Igbo coming back to say he’s more Igbo than the Igbos.

Among those that aren’t taking this bare-faced deceit is a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, In Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, who told Amaechi that they’re not babies.

The promoters of Amaechi’s 2023 vision are making every effort to ensure the former Rivers Governor rides on the back of Igbos to achieve his presidential dream.

In a quite currently making the rounds on Social media and credited to Rotimi Amaechi, the Honourable minister of Transport, said his name is Chibuike Amaechi and he is an Igbo man by birthright, heritage and ancestry, he said people would only contest this fact if they want to be sectional and deny the Igbo people. He said he is an Ikwerre man and his people are Igbos.

But Igbokwe in a Facebook post on Sunday reminded the Hon. Minister of Transportation that he once denied he’s Igbo asking him (Amaechi) “why this sudden u- turn now sir?”

Igbokwe went further to tell Amaechi that he can’t deny the Igbos in the market place and come to them at night to pay allegiance adding that its not “the hallmark of a serious and a decent person.”

“Hon Minister of Transport, former two-term Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly and former two-term Governor of Rivers State Chibuike Amaechi once said publicly that he is not Igbo. Why this sudden u- turn now sir?

“You cannot deny us in the market place in the afternoon and come to us in the night to pay allegiance . This is not the hallmark of a serious and a decent person. We are not babies sir.”
