…Says he stands a better chance to win, attract more development

…Engr. Vita Abba Sudden Opposition Pat Asadu, Too Sudden, too late

The Nsukka Democratic Movement (NDM) has thrown their support behind Dr. Pat Asadu
to be the Peoples Democratic Party’s Candidate for the post of House of Representatives, Nsukka/Igboeze-South federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The Group made their stand known while reviewing the political mood in Nsukka-Igboeze South federal Constituency; reality on ground and best approach to ensure rapid development of the Constituency.

The Group leader, Onyebuchi Igboke in an exclusive media interaction, elucidated the position of Nsukka Democratic Movement (NDM) on who becomes the flag bearer of PDP and by Extension, the best Choice available for the people amongst the over Eight Aspirants who bought Expression of interest form in PDP and other political parties.

Igboke further reminded the people of Nsukka that four years ago, he was at the fore front of engaging the incumbent house of representatives Member, Dr. Part Asadu under Nsukka/Igboeze Rescue Movement on the bases of performances, accessibility, and attraction of developmental projects to the Nsukka and Igboeze-South.

Background:
Previously, I was one of those stakeholders who insisted that Right Hon. Pat Asadu will not return to the House of Representatives in his Fourth Tenure.

Then the arguments were on performance, bills and motions moved, accessibility, Constituency engagement and projects attracted.

We never said he should not go back to House of Representatives based on Zoning or he is not from Nsukka.I t remains his fundamental and Constitutional right to contest, likewise every other aspirants from both Nsukka and Igboeze South respectively.

The questions and bases of our resistance for his 4th Bid in 2019 were solely on the following:

1. “The number of verifiable Bills and motions sponsored by him since 11years of his representation at the National Assembly, if any”.

2. “Number of constituency projects attracted since 11years, if any”.

3. “Number of constituency town hall meetings and engagements, if any”.

4. “Finally to give the reasons why he is seeking for 4th term bid.”

Look at those positions, none said anything about “Turn of Nsukka” or zoning.

Results of his 4th term is highly commendable and everyone interested in knowing can attest to it.

Since Engaging Right Hon Pat Asadu, we have seen transformation of our Constituency. We believe that the engagement we had with him in 2019 election has energized him to attract more developmental projects.

Within this last three years, Hon. Pat Asadu attracted construction of the following projects:

1. Nru. road
2. Agbamere road
3. Ibagwa inner city road
4. Igbo Ano to Orba Road
5. Umugbabe OVOKO to Uhunowerre
6. Edem Road
7. Nguru Road
8. Iheaka to Ovoko-Agu Road

9. Itchi Uwani – Nkalagu Road
10. Itchi Uwenu to Nkalagu Road

The number NO 9 & 10 are still at the early stages of construction.

ALSO, the following roads are marked to start in the next phase:

1- Opi Road
2. Okpaligbo Road
3. Barracks to Agu Echara Road
4. Iheakpu Road
5. Iheaka Road.

He is first Representative to attract asphalt roads since the history of Nsukka/Igboeze South

It is important to note that this is exactly how Senator Ike Ekweremadu And Right Honorable Toby Okechukwu transformed Greater Awgu.

You need to visit Aninri LGA, Awgu LGA and Oji River; there you see rapid transformation from what it used to be.

If Pat Asadu can attract all these projects last three years, which we believe were as a result understanding the politics of Nigeria National Assembly; then why can’t we support him to do more and equally stand high chances of getting principal position.

Expectations from Dr. Pat Asadu

“We expect that Right Hon Pat Asadu 5th term bid will enable him to attract more developmental projects for both Nsukka and Igboeze-South people”.

“We also expect that our people will give him the necessary support and return him back to National Assembly”.

Questions for Engr. Pat Asadu and Others:

Why Did Engr Vitalis Abba suddenly Change?

Can Engr. Vita Abba explain the difference between 4th Term and 5th Term?

“How can Vita Abba who was campaign DG of Right Hon Pat Asadu for his 4th term suddenly turn around and want Entire Nsukka people resist the 5th term?”

In case you forget, Engr. Vitalis and others never realized that Dr.Pat Asadu was from Igboeze South when he backed him for 4th term! What really is Vita Abba’s interest?

Engr. Vita Abba never understand that Nsukka was marginalized when he was busy backing him as Campaign Director.

However, we advice that no Nsukka person should allow himself to be used as the instrument of anti Democratic, blackmail and selfish political interest in the forthcoming election. Nsukka is known for love and brotherliness

Nsukka Democratic Movement believe that performance, effective representation and attraction of basic social amenities should dominant Nepotism, tribalism and selfish interest of few in 2023.

There is no guarantee that Nsukka man if elected will underperform or out performance Dr. Pat Asadu; and you don’t change your best player in other to favour a novice, someone not tested in the football match.
