Ahead of the Enugu state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary elections, over a hundred youths from Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday, 5th May, stormed the Lion Building  to reject the plan of the incumbent member representing the zone in the state assembly, Hon. Iloachuchi Aniagu, to contest for a 4th term.

The Youths lamented that the incumbent member who has been been at the state assembly for 12years has done his bid and its time for another person to take the centre stage and offer quality representation to Ndi Nkanu West.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Ugwu Bartholomew, called on the governor to as a matter of urgency, listen to the cry of the people of Nkanu West and ensure that equity is done.

“As youths of Nkanu West and lovers of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who we believe his coming into office was a divine mandate, we are here to ask him to hear the cry of Nkanu people.

“For 12years, Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, Member representing Nkanu West at the Enugu state assembly have done his bit and we believe its time for him to take a bow and let another person speak for our at the House.

“Nkanu West has been in the dark and we are here to tell the governor that we are tired of Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu. For the sake of equity, we want another representative.

“On behalf of Nkanu people, we say no to the 4th term bid of Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu. We say No to the darkness that have enveloped Nkanu West for too long. As a peace loving Governor, we believe that the governor will look into our plea”, he added.

Addressing the crowd of protesters, an aide to the governor said neither the governor nor his chief of staff is around to speak to them.

He thanked the youths for being peaceful and law abiding in expressing their grief and promised them that the governor will definitely be briefed about their visit.
