Fidelity Advert

A human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has challenged the presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi, amongst other aspirants across various political parties to collectively condemn the killing of Ms. Deborah Yakubu, a female Christian student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, who was murdered for blasphemous allegation.

Recall that a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Yakubu, was on Thursday beaten and burnt to death by her schoolmates over alleged religious blasphemy against prophet Mohammed in the school.

According to the source, the deceased was having an argument in a WhatsApp class-group with some of her classmates over what she described as irrelevant Islamic materials always shared in the chat group instead of the academic information which the group was created for.

It was also gathered that she said, “nonsense prophet” in one of her voice notes shared in the WhatsApp group which led to her being brutally beaten to death and burnt thereafter by her fellow students on campus in Sokoto State.

Reacting on the incident, activist Paul, who has initially condemned the killing and called for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators, challenged Peter Obi and other presidential aspirants of the forthcoming 2023 elections to collectively speak up in condemnation and demand justice for the murder of the female student.
