The Kano State Government has reacted to the Tuesday’s explosion in Sabon Gari area of the state.
Speaking on the incident, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said the explosion did not occur in a school
According to Mallam Garba, the explosion occurred at an animal feed store “opposite” the school along Aba Road, Sabon Gari area of Fagge local government area.
He said: “The cause of the explosion and the damage it had done is yet to be officially ascertained, investigation has since commenced determining the cause, impact and measures to be taken
“People of the state, particularly those living in the area where the incident occured, should remain calm while government, in collaboration with relevant agencies, work on the matter.”
Also reacting, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, clarified that it was a gas and not a bomb explosion.
The police chief made the clarification when he visited the scene of the incident and spoke in Hausa saying that four persons have been confirmed dead.
