Hon. Vincent Ofumelu has been declared winner of the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency.
The lawmaker who’s the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency secured his ticket winning with 71 votes, while his opponents secured 4 votes to complete the 75 accredited voters.
The primary election held at Marble Arc Hotel, Awka also produced Stella Odua and Chris Uba as the candidates of the party for Anambra North and South Senatorial zones respectively.
However, there was little squabble towards the end of the contest as an aspirant who couldn’t stomach her loss made efforts to halt the process.
But the prompt response of the security agents brought the situation under control and counting continued to complete the process.
