Family Love 99.9FM, one of the private radio stations in Enugu is back on air after their transmission activities was disruption by lightning on Saturday evening.
JOURNALIST101 had reported that the incident also Injured one of the staff of the radio station and damaged some broadcast equipments.
Mr. Celestine Ugwuanyi, the manager of the station who spoke to our correspondent confirmed that they’re back on air and added that the incident isn’t “alien to broadcast industry”.
He said: “I can confirm to you that we’re back on air and if you tune into our frequency, 99.9fm, you will get us loud and clear.
“The challenge has been rectified and we thank God for that. We will also love to thank our listeners for their patience. These things happen from time to time, especially, when you’re in our kind of location; on top of the hill.
Mr. Ugwuanyi also thanked their engineers which he said “worked round the clock to ensure that the issue is resolved early enough.”
He revealed that the affected that staff is dojng very well as the effect wasn’t too severe.
JOURNALIST101 learnt that few of the broadcast equipments were affected by the lightning and Mr. Ugwuanyi stated that there are plans to relocate their broadcast station away from the transmission station.
